Two unidentified men in their late 20s performed a daring BASE jumping stunt from the top of Seattle's Space Needle on the evening of July 24. The men, who were described as White males, entered the attraction as regular tourists and were seen on security footage scouting the observation deck before entering a restroom to put on helmets. According to the Seattle Police Department, the pair ran toward a northbound glass window, climbed over the ledge, and performed a backflip before parachuting down to the ground. While the exact landing locations were not immediately confirmed, witnesses reported one parachute landed on a nearby hotel roof while another landed near the Bite of Seattle festival. The Space Needle officially labeled the incident as illegal. The two men currently face trespassing charges and remain at large. Authorities are reviewing security footage to identify the jumpers, who managed to keep their gear packed in backpacks to avoid detection by security staff.
