The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled a limited-edition bobblehead of Jimothy, the viral Seattle raccoon.
The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum has released the first officially licensed, limited-edition bobblehead of Jimothy, the Seattle raccoon that became a global internet sensation this summer. The museum designed the bobblehead to replicate the raccoon’s unique, round appearance caused by "short spine syndrome," a condition that compresses his vertebrae and gives him a neckless look. Jimothy gained fame after a video of him scurrying across a street garnered over 10 million views. The raccoon has since become a local icon, appearing in a neighborhood mural, receiving an honorary degree from the University of Washington, and even participating in a "Salmon Run" at T-Mobile Park. During the baseball event, Jimothy captured the checkered flag, helping the Seattle Mariners regain momentum after a scoreless stretch. The new bobblehead will be sold exclusively through the museum’s online store for $30 each. These individually numbered items are scheduled to ship in December, allowing fans to own a piece of the "Jimothy Summer" phenomenon.
