Svetlana Grković́ says Ljubisa Karović was partially sucked out of a Ryanair window during a mid-air decompression.
A passenger window on a Ryanair flight partially sucked out a 61-year-old man, Ljubisa Karović, shortly after takeoff from Thessaloniki, Greece. His wife, Svetlana Grković́, recounted that she and several other passengers managed to pull him back inside the aircraft after he was outside for approximately two minutes. The incident occurred when debris reportedly smashed the cabin window during an uncontained engine failure. Ljubisa Karović was found seriously injured and in shock, though officials stated he did not sustain life-threatening injuries. Ryanair stated the flight landed normally, but the accident triggered an investigation by the Hellenic Air and Rail Safety Investigation Authority. Authorities determined the aircraft suffered significant decompression, leading to oxygen masks dropping in the cabin. Investigators from multiple international bodies, including the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, are assisting the review of the technical failures.
