Gary Anderson, a 78-year-old grandfather, stated that he still loves his son-in-law, Kristopher Karolkiewicz, despite the tragic murder-suicide that claimed the lives of his daughter and six grandchildren. Authorities believe Kristopher Karolkiewicz, 47, fatally shot his 37-year-old wife, Amanda, and their six children before setting fire to their Michigan home and ultimately turning the gun on himself. The family was discovered in Grand Haven Township, where investigators found the bodies in their respective bedrooms. While the tragedy is devastating, Gary Anderson noted that a person's legacy should not be defined by the worst day of their life. He recalled Kristopher Karolkiewicz as a good father and husband. The crime occurred shortly after Kristopher Karolkiewicz lost his job with the American Heart Association. Amanda Karolkiewicz, a substitute teacher, had recently shared on social media that she felt stretched too thin while raising six children. The case remains open as investigators continue to search for a motive.
