Jianquan Bo, a 66-year-old man from Irvine, is accused of assisting in the kidnapping and murder of Shukur Aikebaer. The victim, a 60-year-old business partner, was allegedly shot and placed in the trunk of a car by his business partner, Zhengfeng Bo, after being lured out of his home by a power outage. Jianquan Bo was the passenger in the vehicle during the incident. San Bernardino County District Attorney Jason Anderson and Sheriff Shannon Dicus are scheduled to hold a news conference on Monday to provide a motive for the killing. Business records indicate that the two men were involved in a dispute over a $20 million apartment complex in Pasadena. While Zhengfeng Bo was killed by deputies at the scene, Jianquan Bo remains in custody without bail. The Aikebaer family described the victim as a selfless mentor and a loving father of three daughters.
