Aerodiana plane crash in Peru kills 13 people during flight over Nazca Lines

A small plane operated by the Peruvian airline Aerodiana crashed in the Pueblo Viejo region of southern Peru on Saturday, killing all 13 people on board. The aircraft, a Cessna 208B Grand Caravan, was transporting 11 tourists from Spain, Italy, and Germany to view the Nazca Lines, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The plane lost contact with the control tower shortly after departing from Pisco Airport at approximately 1:00 p.m. local time. Police Major Jorge Andrade confirmed that there were no survivors in the accident. The crash occurred roughly 12 kilometers from the famous desert geoglyphs. Peruvian authorities have launched an investigation to determine the and assign liability.
