Daniil Perediry is killed in a Moscow restaurant explosion that allegedly targeted Russian Aerospace Forces commander Oleksandr Chaiko.
Daniil Perediry was killed during an explosion at Moscow's Balzi Rossi restaurant on August 1. The blast, which occurred during a private event, killed at least three to five people and injured 21 others. Perediry was the son-in-law of Oleksandr Chaiko, the commander of Russia's Aerospace Forces, who was reportedly the primary target of the explosion. The attack was described by Russian officials as a terrorist act. A woman carrying a parcel was stopped by a security guard at the entrance, at which point the remote-detonated device exploded. The Russian Embassy in Italy attributed the blast to Ukraine, suggesting the Kyiv terrorists intended to strike a senior military figure. This follows a series of bomb attacks on Russian military leaders. While the explosion was a major news story, Russian state media provided minimal coverage to avoid causing public alarm. The Kremlin has yet to provide official confirmation of the guest list, though the Russian Embassy in Italy has blamed the work of Ukraine.
