President Lee Jae Myung and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang announced a series of major strategic partnerships aimed at establishing South Korea as a global hub for artificial intelligence. During an AI Summit in San Francisco, the two leaders discussed a multi-billion dollar push into AI semiconductors, hyperscale data centers, and physical AI. NVIDIA is securing a massive $500 billion partnership with SK Group to develop AI infrastructure and high-bandwidth memory. Additionally, the administration announced a $1 billion investment in the Korean cloud company Naver to help finance a new data center. These collaborations include the development of a joint AI research lab with the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and a physical AI strategy with Hyundai Motor Group.
