Elon Musk scrubbed the 13th test flight of the SpaceX Starship rocket after several engines failed to ignite during the launch sequence.
Elon Musk scrubbed the 13th test flight of the SpaceX Starship rocket on Thursday evening after a computer system triggered an automatic abort. The launch, which was the first Starship attempt since the company went public, was delayed because some of the engines failed to start as the countdown reached zero. The rocket company is currently addressing the issue by replacing two Raptor engines. Elon Musk stated that the next launch attempt is expected to occur early next week. This mission is the second test flight for the Starship Version 3 vehicle. It aims to deploy 20 production Starlink V3 satellites on a suborbital trajectory while testing the Super Heavy booster's ability to perform a controlled landing in the Gulf of Mexico. The launch delay comes as investors monitor SpaceX's performance following its record-breaking initial public offering. Despite the technical setback, the company remains a primary focus for NASA as it prepares for the Artemis 3 mission.
