Ljubisa Karović survived a near-death experience after being partially sucked out of a Ryanair aircraft window during a flight from Greece to Germany.
Ljubisa Karović, a 61-year-old Serbian entrepreneur, survived a dramatic aviation incident on July 10 when a window on a Ryanair flight shattered, nearly pulling him out of the aircraft. While traveling from Thessaloniki to Memmingen, the plane lost cabin pressure at 15,000 feet, leaving Karović with his head and right arm outside the fuselage for approximately two minutes. The incident was likely caused by "foreign-object damage" to the engine during takeoff, according to Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary. While the airline defended its cabin crew's performance, Karović’s lawyer, Vasilis Tsiaras, noted that passengers were instrumental in pulling Karović back inside the plane. Karović suffered friction burns and neck injuries, requiring him to wear a brace for at least six weeks. The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board is currently leading the investigation into the cause of the explosion. Karović expressed gratitude for his survival, attributing his luck to his seatbelt and his faith.
