Apple Launches New Leasing Program in the United States to Provide Flexible Payment Options for Devices
The administration announced the launch of Apple Upgrade, a new product leasing program in the United States provided by Klarna. This program allows customers to lease various Apple devices, including the iPhone, Apple Watch, Mac, and iPad, with monthly payments starting as low as $11.99 for an Apple Watch and $17.99 for an iPhone. Tim Cook said the program is intended to make it easier for customers to access the company's latest products through a leasing plan, particularly for those who prefer a regular upgrade schedule. The program offers 12-month and 24-month lease terms for the iPhone and Apple Watch, while the Mac and iPad offer 24-month and 36-month options. At the end of the lease period, customers can choose to upgrade, purchase the device with a one-time payment, or return it. The program replaces the previous iPhone Upgrade Program and iPhone Payments. It is designed to help consumers manage the costs of premium devices as hardware prices rise and replacement cycles lengthen.
