President Trump gives Darline Graham his complete and total endorsement for the South Carolina special Senate primary.
President Trump gave Darline Graham his "complete and total endorsement" to run in the upcoming South Carolina special Republican primary. The 62-year-old will seek to fill the Senate seat vacated by the sudden death of her brother, Lindsey Graham. Darline Graham was appointed by Governor Henry McMaster to serve the remainder of her brother's term through early January. She was sworn into the Senate on Tuesday, becoming the first woman to represent South Carolina in the upper chamber. While she has never held elected office, she has extensive experience in disability services and served as a commissioner for the South Carolina Commission for the Blind. The administration announced the endorsement following a White House meeting where President Trump asked Darline Graham to run for the Good of our Nation. The special primary is scheduled for August 11, 2026. Several other Republican figures, including Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette and Rep. Nancy Mace, have been considered for the seat, but Darline Graham enters the race with high name recognition and the president's backing.
