While the administration announced that discussions are progressing toward a deal that could stabilize energy prices, Iran's Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that Tehran is currently only in discussions with Oman to establish a safe navigation route. This diplomatic friction occurs as the strategic waterway remains largely restricted. A cargo vessel was struck by an unknown projectile near the Oman coast on Monday night, highlighting the ongoing risks to maritime traffic. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent suggested a deal could be reached as early as Wednesday to ensure freedom of movement. Meanwhile, the administration also addressed the Gaza peace plan, where President Donald Trump stated that Hamas had agreed to disarm, though Israel has expressed concern over the plan's implementation as it continues its bombing campaign.
