Trading firms and institutional investors can now pay up to $100,000 per month to receive market-moving announcements regarding economic policy and global affairs before the general public. As the largest shareholder of the company, Donald Trump benefits directly from the new revenue stream. While the service is intended to monetize proprietary assets, critics argue it may constitute a form of insider trading. Democratic Senators Adam Schiff and Elizabeth Warren have urged the Securities and Exchange Commission to investigate whether the service violates securities laws by giving wealthy insiders an unfair advantage. Trump Media spokeswoman Shannon Devine defended the company, stating that the data is publicly available and that critics are creating a new theory of insider trading. The administration announced the launch as a way to expand revenue sources for the president's media empire.
