The jet, which the administration recently began using, is expected to be out of commission for approximately one month to complete these enhancements. The decision follows reports that the luxury aircraft lacked some of the anti-missile defense capabilities found in the previous model. While the administration maintains the plane is "perfectly safe," the Secret Service previously urged President Donald Trump to use the older aircraft during a trip to Turkey due to high-threat conditions in the Middle East. The $400 million jet serves as a temporary replacement until Boeing delivers two next-generation planes in 2028.
