Toronto police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Monday morning at the U.S. Consulate in Toronto. Deputy Chief Frank Barredo reported that a firearm was discharged at approximately 4:46 a.m., resulting in damage to the building's facade and the recovery of a single shell casing. No injuries were reported among the two security personnel inside the building or the surrounding area. Following the discharge, a white late-model Honda Accord with no license plates was seen fleeing the scene. Deputy Chief Frank Barredo led a high-speed chase that lasted an hour, but no arrest was made. Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow described the incident as a brazen attack and stated that the authorities would hold the responsible party accountable. This marks the second shooting at the consulate this year. The first incident occurred on March 10, which led to an investigation into gun-for-hire networks. Police are currently following the evidence to determine the motive and identify the perpetrator.
