Christian H. Kaelin, chair of Henley & Partners, revealed that Singapore now possesses the world's most powerful passport, granting citizens visa-free access to 192 destinations. The 20th-anniversary Henley Passport Index shows that global mobility has increased significantly since 2006, with the average passport now offering access to 108 countries compared to 58 two decades ago. The report highlights a strong correlation between a nation's peacefulness and its passport power. Singapore ranks as the most powerful passport and the eighth most peaceful nation. Other top performers include Japan and Switzerland, which rank highly on both the Henley Passport Index and the Global Peace Index. The United States and Israel emerged as notable statistical outliers. While the United States ranks 10th for passport power, it sits near the bottom of the peace rankings at 134th. These positions reflect the diplomatic capital and geopolitical influence of these nations, proving that travel freedom is shaped by international confidence and economic importance rather than peacefulness alone.
