Uber agreed to acquire Delivery Hero in a $14.8 billion deal to expand its global mobility and delivery footprint.

Uber agreed to acquire Delivery Hero in a deal that values the Berlin-based food delivery company at $14.8 billion. The voluntary takeover offer provides €41.50 per share in cash, representing a significant premium over recent share prices. The acquisition will expand Uber's reach to 99 markets, nearly doubling the number of regions where the company offers both mobility and delivery services. The deal includes the acquisition of Delivery Hero's operations in 50 markets, including brands such as Glovo and talabat. Simultaneously, the investment firm SSW Partners agreed to purchase Delivery Hero's businesses in 14 markets for $1.6 billion. To finance the purchase, Uber will utilize cash on hand and raise new debt. Dara Khosrowshahi, the CEO of Uber, stated that the combined businesses will scale a proven platform to create long-term value for customers and shareholders. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2027, pending regulatory approvals. Uber committed to maintaining Delivery Hero's German headquarters and workforce through at least 2029.
