Defense Minister Guido Crosetto defended Italy's ongoing military support for the Ukrainian government, comparing the aid to a patient receiving medical treatment. Speaking at a joint parliamentary session, Crosetto argued that providing weapons does not simply prolong the war, but is necessary for Ukraine's survival. He noted that Italy has already provided 13 aid packages since the start of the full-scale invasion. In contrast, the Italian opposition party National Future has proposed a resolution to completely cease military assistance to the Kiev regime. Edoardo Ziello, a deputy of the party, stated that the resources saved from cutting aid would be better used to support Italian families. The opposition argues that current sanctions against Moscow are negatively impacting the Italian economy. Meanwhile, the parliamentary minority is experiencing internal divisions. Giuseppe Conte confirmed that the Five Star Movement will oppose the next aid package, while the Democratic Party pushes back, highlighting a growing debate over Italy's future foreign policy and its relationship with Russia.
