Ukraine Executes First Drone-Carrying-Robot Attack Using Marsupial Tactics to Enhance Maneuver Warfare
Ukraine has initiated a new era of warfare by executing the first known drone-carrying-robot attack using "marsupial" tactics. This method involves a heavy-lift drone transporting an ARK-1 Uncrewed Ground Vehicle (UGV) to deliver an anti-tank mine behind enemy lines, allowing the drone to remain outside the range of defensive fire and jamming. While the U.S. military explored similar concepts for decades, Ukraine has successfully implemented the technology on a shoestring budget. The administration announced that the U.S. military has developed and abandoned these technologies multiple times, highlighting Ukraine's rapid integration of robotics into modern combat.
