Andrey Vorobyov reports five people killed in Ukrainian drone strike on Moscow industrial zone
Andrey Vorobyov, the governor of the Moscow region, confirmed that a Ukrainian drone strike on an industrial zone in the Chekhov district killed five people and wounded 10 others. The attack occurred overnight on Tuesday, triggering several fires and damaging an administrative building and an electrical substation. This strike is considered one of the deadliest in the capital region since the 2022 invasion began. Ukraine has been intensifying long-range drone strikes against Russian civilian infrastructure, specifically targeting the e-commerce giant Wildberries. Kyiv claims these strikes are a way to bring the war back to Russian citizens and pressure the Russian economy. Meanwhile, Russia's defense ministry reported intercepting hundreds of drones across the country. In response, Russia launched 136 drones at Ukraine overnight, with 117 intercepted. The conflict continues to show an uptick in civilian deaths as the war grinds on without a peace deal.
