Volodymyr Zelenskyy reports Ukrainian drone strikes hit major Wildberries logistics hubs in Russia's Moscow and Tambov regions
Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Ukrainian long-range drone strikes hit two significant logistics facilities in Russia's Moscow and Tambov regions. The strikes targeted warehouses belonging to the major online retailer Wildberries, which Ukraine utilized to supply sanctioned components for drone production and navigation equipment. The attack in the Tambov region's town of Kotovsk resulted in seven deaths and 25 injuries. Simultaneously, a strike in the city of Elektrostal, located east of Moscow, killed one person and injured 37 others. The Moscow region governor, Andrei Vorobyov, noted that the drone debris also damaged a nearby kindergarten. Additionally, a Ukrainian drone struck an oil depot in Noginsk, sparking a fire that required the evacuation of a nearby maternity hospital. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that air defenses intercepted 379 Ukrainian drones across 19 regions. While the Kotovsk fire was contained, the Elektrostal facility remained engulfed in flames, producing massive plumes of smoke visible for kilometers. These strikes represent some of the most lethal Ukrainian operations inside Russia in over two years.
