President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that Ukrainian forces conducted a series of strikes against Russian energy and logistics infrastructure. On July 31, Ukraine targeted the Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka refinery in Volgograd Oblast, one of Russia's largest oil-processing facilities. The Security Service of Ukraine also reported strikes on an aircraft plant in Yevpatoriia, Russian-occupied Crimea, and the port of Taman. Additionally, on August 1, a massive drone strike targeted oil refineries in Ufa, Bashkortostan, and military positions in occupied Crimea. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that air defenses intercepted 274 drones across 16 regions. These strikes caused multiple fires and forced flight restrictions at Ufa International Airport. Ukraine's ongoing campaign against Russian energy infrastructure has significantly impacted domestic fuel supplies, with Russian gasoline production falling to approximately 65% of average summer demand by early July. The strikes also targeted logistics hubs for the Russian e-commerce retailer Wildberries, which temporarily suspended operations at some warehouses due to fires.
