Trunk Bay on St. John has secured the top spot as the best beach in the world in the Beach.com Global Beach Index 2026. The ranking, which analyzed nearly 100,000 reviews and data from NASA and the European Union, identified the St. John location for its turquoise waters, white sand, and mountainous backdrop. The beach is situated within the Virgin Islands National Park and features a 225-yard underwater snorkeling trail. It received high marks from travel experts for its natural beauty and water quality. The analysis determined that the beach offers optimal conditions for 10 months of the year, with the period from April through June identified as the best time for visitors. The U.S. Virgin Islands secured three spots in the top 25 global list. Sandy Point National Wildlife Refuge on St. Croix ranked seventh, while Magens Bay Beach on St. Thomas placed at number 17. These rankings highlight the territory as a premier destination for coastal beauty and environmental preservation.
