Abbas Araghchi Protests Ukrainian Strike on Iranian Commercial Vessel in Caspian Sea
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has formally protested a Ukrainian strike on a commercial vessel in the Caspian Sea, describing the attack as a "hostile and criminal act." The strike, which occurred on Saturday, caused the vessel to explode, allegedly killing one sailor and injuring several others. Araghchi accused Israel of provoking the attack to draw Europe into the conflict, noting that the strike is a violation of the United Nations Charter. Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy defended the move, stating that his forces achieved strong results with long-range strikes against both a Russian warship and vessels carrying Iranian-linked military cargo.
