Michael Capponi reports that Venezuela faces a long-term humanitarian crisis as Global Empowerment Mission establishes a permanent warehouse to provide ongoing aid.

Michael Capponi, president of the nonprofit Global Empowerment Mission, returned to South Florida after a two-and-a-half-week mission to Venezuela to assess the nation's ongoing devastation. He estimated that approximately 500,000 people are currently living in tents or on the streets. To address this, the organization has already assisted 115,000 people by coordinating 16 cargo planes, 7 shipping containers, and 5 military landing craft. The nonprofit has established a permanent warehouse in La Guiria, the country's hardest-hit region. Capponi emphasized that the relief effort is a "marathon" rather than a short-term project, noting that the warehouse must provide support indefinitely. While Amazon donated $100,000 to the cause, the organization is seeking further corporate support to maintain its supplies. Currently, the nonprofit manages warehouse space equivalent to five Costco stores, filled with donations from 37 states. As the country continues to recover from recent earthquakes, the mission remains focused on ensuring a steady flow of supplies to the displaced population.
