Dan Schulman reports strong second-quarter growth for Verizon Communications as the company expands its AI-focused infrastructure and raises financial forecasts.

Dan Schulman, CEO of Verizon Communications, reported exceptional second-quarter 2026 financial results, driven by a customer-first strategic transformation. The telecom giant added 184,000 postpaid phone customers and 348,000 broadband accounts, marking its largest gains in consumer accounts in five years. These gains were supported by new flat-rate unlimited mobile plans and bundled offerings designed to provide real value rather than relying on subsidized promotions. The company's adjusted earnings rose 6.6% to $1.30 per share, while operating and free cash flow surged to $10.4 billion and $6.4 billion, respectively. Based on these results, the administration announced a raised full-year financial forecast, projecting adjusted earnings per share to grow by 6% to 7% by 2026. Additionally, the company expanded its share buyback target to $4.5 billion. Schulman highlighted a new deal with Google valued at over $1 billion, where the search giant will use Verizon's dark fiber to connect AI data centers. Schulman said this deal represents the beginning of a multi-billion dollar AI-focused growth strategy.
