Services began with a private ceremony at the U.S. Capitol Rotunda, where Graham's remains were honored by an Armed Forces Body Bearer team. Senate Majority Leader John Thune noted that Graham dedicated his life to public service and was a valued friend to his colleagues. Following the Washington ceremonies, Graham's remains will be transported to South Carolina on Wednesday. A public funeral procession will begin at the South Carolina State House, featuring an F-16 flyover and a tribute from law enforcement. The procession will and conclude at the First Baptist Church of Columbia for a final service and private burial.
