Ashley Korn witnesses Blue Angels low flyover in Pensacola Beach, prompting U.S. Navy review of maneuver.
The U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels flight demonstration squadron is conducting a review after an ultra-low flyover occurred over Pensacola Beach, Florida, on Wednesday morning. The maneuver, which happened during the "Breakfast with the Blues" event, reportedly caused a disturbance, knocking over beach items. Officials stated that the Blue Angels are reviewing the circumstances surrounding the low-altitude pass to ensure all operations meet strict Navy and Federal Aviation Administration safety standards. Witnesses described the spectacle as thrilling. Attendee Ashley Korn told reporters, “I’ve been coming for 10 years and I’ve never seen a pass like that in my life. I literally thought we were going to be taken out by Blue Angels, but it was amazing.” Other attendees also reported that the close flypast was an intense experience. The Blue Angels emphasized that the safety of the community and spectators remains their highest priority while the team leadership conducts its thorough safety review.
