To mitigate political concerns, Hollywood power broker Ari Emanuel has suggested establishing an independent editorial board to oversee CNN, similar to the structures used by The Wall Street Journal and Reuters. This move could potentially satisfy the state attorneys general who are currently challenging the merger. The trial for the merger is scheduled to begin in March 2027, giving Paramount time to navigate these negotiations and secure the deal.
