A multiday severe weather system is set to impact the Upper Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeast regions starting Monday. The FOX Forecast Center reports that surging moisture ahead of a cold front will fuel strong thunderstorms, with the risk of severe weather ramping up through Wednesday. Residents in southeast Wisconsin and northern Iowa face a Level 3 out of 5 risk for severe storms on Monday, primarily driven by damaging winds and large hail. Meanwhile, southeast Minnesota will experience an Air Quality Alert through Monday morning as smoky skies persist. A Heat Advisory is also in effect for several counties along I-35 starting Monday at noon. As the system moves east, the threat will shift into the Ohio Valley and central Appalachians on Tuesday before reaching the I-95 corridor by Wednesday. While specific timing remains subject to change, the FOX Forecast Center warns that flash flooding is likely each day as intense rain rates may reach 2 to 3 inches in some locations.
