Ljubisa Karović was partially sucked out of a Ryanair plane after a window shattered during a flight from Greece to Germany.

Ljubisa Karović, a 61-year-old Serbian national, was nearly sucked out of a Ryanair aircraft after a window dislodged shortly after takeoff from Thessaloniki, Greece. The incident occurred when a piece of debris from the engine struck and shattered the acrylic window, causing rapid decompression. Karović was thrust into the slipstream up to his chest for two minutes, during which he lost consciousness three times. His wife, Svetlana Grković, and two other passengers managed to pull him back into the cabin. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800 operated by Malta Air, performed a rapid descent to stabilize the cabin before making an emergency landing in Thessaloniki. Karović suffered neck and shoulder injuries, friction burns, and a badly injured hand. The National Transportation Safety Board has taken over the investigation from Greek authorities to determine if the cause was an engine failure, maintenance issue, or manufacturing defect. Aviation experts noted that while the event was terrifying, such rapid decompressions remain extremely rare in commercial aviation.
