Nikita Bier steps down as head of product at X to become a corporate advisor
Nikita Bier has officially resigned from his role as head of product at X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. After serving in the position for approximately 400 days, Bier stated that it is time to "pass the torch" and move into a strategic role as a corporate advisor. During his tenure, Bier oversaw a comprehensive overhaul of the platform's digital architecture, including the redesign of the main timeline, the Android app, and the notification system. He spearheaded the launch of nearly 30 new products and tools, while managing the platform through various technical challenges and scandals. Bier noted that leading the app is a 24/7 job and he is ready to take a break from day-to-day operations. He will continue to provide guidance to the company, while technical leadership will be shared among several executives, including Benji Taylor and Mridul Singhai. The transition occurs as X experiences significant growth in new users and engagement metrics.
